Try Tripas à Moda do Porto
Tripas a Moda do Porto or Tripe in the style of Porto recipe is a symbol of the Porto people's generosity as according to the legend when Henry the Navigator was preparing his ships to conquer Ceuta in 1415, he asked the people of Porto to donate supplies to stock the Portuguese navy and they did, in such an extent, that all that was left to eat was tripe. However, that did not mean starvation for the people; instead they used imagination to create this amazing recipe, which granted them the nickname of "tripeiros" or "tripe eaters".
Try a "Francesinha"
The "Francesinha" is perhaps the most popular "bite" in Porto and is renowned as the most popular Portuguese sandwich, if it can be called that! Praised by foodies worldwide the dish appeals particularly to those with an appetite for spicy meats and is most commonly accompanied by a cold beer.

Serralves is culture, nature and art. Within its extensive gardens and green areas lies the Museum of Modern Art, a project by the architect Siza Vieira with exhibitions by Paula Rego, Andy Warhol amongst others. Buy a book at The Livraria Lello (Lello Bookshop)
Cited by The Guardian as "one of the most beautiful book shops in the world" the Lello bookshop is another must see in Porto. Opened in 1906 it still maintains its original carved ceilings, stained glass windows and pink painted curved central staircase! Lello offers a vast array of books, encyclopaedias and travel guides.

Watch a game of football at The Estádio do Dragão (Dragão Stadium)
Home to the Oporto Football Club the "Dragão" football stadium was rebuilt and opened in 2003. Manuel Salgado (the architect) designed the stadium which cost over €90 million to build and can seat 52,000 people. The name Dragão (dragon) was used as it is the symbol of the club. Guided tours of the stadium can be booked if you don't have time to catch a game!

Visit The Museu do Futebol Clube do Porto (Football Club Porto Museum)

Jardins do Palácio de Cristal (Gardens of palácio de Cristal)
The Romantic Gardens of Palácio de Cristal occupy an area of 8 hectares in Porto's centre and they were designed in the 19th century by the German landscape architect Émille David, in the context of constructing the building of Palácio de Cristal (Crystal Palace). Currently, the following still remain preserved in accordance with the original project: Jardim Émille David at the main entrance, Avenida das Tílias, the forest and the balconies' design over the river Douro. We can also contemplate magnificent panoramic views over the river and the city that the viewpoints in strategic places offer to us. It is to be noted that these gardens, making a good use of the botanic heritage and of the ludic-cultural dynamics, is home to an Environmental Education Centre.
Visit The Torre dos Clérigos (Clérigos Tower)
The architectural complex of Clerics, considered a National Monument since 1910, is one of the main points of interest for its Tower, Museum and Church, and a must-see location for all those who visit the city of Porto.
The church and the Tower are part of a baroque-inspired building from the 18th century, which marked the city's urban configuration, located on an uneven street, but brilliantly used by Nicolau Nasoni, who managed to create a landmark building. The Church and the Tower are adjoined to the House of the Brotherhood, which since 2014, after it became a museum, is open to the public.
Visit The Estação de São Bento (Saint Benedict Railway Station)
The corner stone was unveiled in 1900 by king Carlos I on the site of the former convent S. Bento de Avé Maria (Saint Benedict of Hail Mary). The initial project was designed by architect Marques da Silva with its external lines demonstrating then contemporary French influences.
Well worth a visit is the huge entrance hall covered with some twenty thousand pictorial tiles. The work of Jorge Colaço, they feature historical and ethnographic images. The coloured frieze running around the entire atrium details various forms of transport in chronological order from the earliest times through to the appearance of the train. Below, great panels depict scenes from the history of Portugal.
On the northern wall, the upper panel depicts a scene from the Valdevez Archery Tournament while below there is a greeting from Egas Moniz. On the southern wall, the upper panel features the royal entry of João I into Porto, with his bride, Philippa of Lancaster, and the lower scenes from the Ceuta Chronicles. Other small panels show aspects of regional life.
Visit The Ponte Luís I (Louis I Bridge)
The Dom Luís I Bridge (Portuguese: Ponte de Dom Luís I), or Luís I Bridge, is a double-deck metal arch bridge that spans the River Douro between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. At its construction, its 172 metres (564 ft) span was the longest of its type in the world.
